Just an update on how the elections turned out for our 2009-10 officers. For President, I ran unopposed. For Vice President, Chelsea Doss and Daniel Tubb ran. Chelsea was elected and will now serve us as VP. For Secretary, Christine ran again, and she was opposed by Chelsea (only if she didn't win the VP spot), and Laura Vaught. Laura won and is now serving us as Secretary.
On a side note, the former officers (Myself, Tori, and Christine) all were political science majors. This time around we have one polisci major, and two ag majors (Chelsea and Laura). It looks like the ag majors may take us over. Ahhhh! :)
Congrats to Chelsea and Laura as they serve us in the upcoming school year. I know they will do a good job as we work to grow this group for next year's elections, and for the years following our graduations from this school.
Also, I want to speak on behalf of our chapter to thank Tori and Christine for their service over the last year. Last year was our first official year back in operation after the group fell apart due to lack of interest after the 2006 elections. Now, we are back and rebuilding, and we want to thank our outgoing VP and Secretary on their contributions to our revival.
Don't forget the Tea Party in the square Wednesday at 4, and our last general meeting of the semester this Thursday with Dave Evans as our speaker in Room 370 at dead hour.
Blessings,
Jordan
